Easter Sunday- Joy to the World

They will proclaim his righteousness, declaring to a people yet unborn: He has done it! Psalm 22:31

Joy to the World by Reawaken Hymns

Joy to the world! the Saviour reigns;
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

Wait, this isn’t an Easter song, or is it?  What better day during the whole year to sing “Joy to the World”

The Easter Song, by Jess Ray

Hear the bells ringing; They’re singing that you can be born again
Hear the bells ringing; They’re singing Christ is risen from the dead

The angel up on the tombstone; Said He has risen, just as He said
Quickly now, go tell his disciples; That Jesus Christ is no longer dead

Joy to the world, He has risen, hallelujah
He’s risen, hallelujah
He’s risen, hallelujah

It is a day of celebration, Christ is risen from the dead, we can be born again.  We are made new each and every day.  If we sing Joy to the World when he is born, all the more reason to sing it when He has accomplished the very thing he was born to do.  He was born in a manager so that He could die on the cross and rise again from a grave to give us new life.

Chris Tomlin sings the chorus below.

It’s Christmas!
The angels are singing; And I know the reason, the Savior is born
It’s Christmas!
The bells are ringing; And I feel like shouting; Joy to the world!

Is he saying that he knows the reason why the angels are singing or the reason that Christ is born?   Whatever the answer may be.  It makes me want to shout, “Joy to the World”

He has risen! He is not here. Mark 16:6
